Custodian

Boone County, located in Columbia, MO, is looking for a Custodian. Responsibilities Performs a variety of cleaning tasks to clean and maintain the condition of the employee’s assigned area. Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim; cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas; sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes hard floors. Vacuums rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies; dusts furniture and equipment; polishes metalwork; washes walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills; empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays. Operates various pieces of janitorial equipment: auto scrubber, floor buffer. Transports trash to waste disposal area; replenishes bathroom supplies; removes debris from lawns, sidewalks, and parking areas. Opens and closes by locking and unlocking buildings; replenishes cleaning supplies and materials; loads and unloads cleaning equipment, supplies and materials; reports maintenance issues as needed. Working Hours 4:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Monday – Friday Qualifications High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of custodial experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have reliable transportation and a valid Missouri driver’s license; must possess a clear criminal record (excluding minor traffic violations). Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds, stand extensively and bend/stoop frequently. Must pass a law enforcement and FBI fingerprint background check. Preferred Qualifications Commercial cleaning experience. Starting Hourly Salary Range $18.33 - $18.89 per hour. #J-18808-Ljbffr
