About the Role Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist I in Neptune, NJ. This hospital-based position at the Jersey Shore requires Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with rotational weekends. Sign‑on bonus of $7,500 for external applicants; relocation assistance considered. Pay range: $27.95–$46.12 per hour with shift differentials and annual performance bonus. Responsibilities Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results. Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens. Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures. Review and release test results. Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines. Follow laboratory policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within acceptable performance levels. Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting and correct them or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor. Qualifications Education BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology; or Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology; or previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493. Work Experience 1 year clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred. Licenses & Certifications ASCP Certification. Related Titles MLS, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Lab Scientist, Med Tech, Medical Technologist, CLS, Clinical Lab Scientist.
