Assembly Technician - 2nd Shift Windsor, CT

Position Summary The assembly technician will use mechanical skills and attention to detail to independently and safely assemble, test and inspect various components according to customer specifications, internal process documentation and industry quality standards. Essential Functions Read and understand process travelers, setup journals, tooling sheets, operation sheets and all applicable documentation to produce complex finished product. Understand the use of various types of installation tools including standard and electronic torque wrenches, hydraulic and air press. Accurately inspect work utilizing various instruments, including OD & ID indicating gauges, indicators, micrometers, height stands, verniers, microscope and functional gauges. Complete Quality/Inspection documentation, certifying compliance to prescribed work instructions. Properly manage inventory of assembled components by putting/pulling details from storage, building assembly kits and shadowboxing. Perform daily TPM responsibilities. Maintain good housekeeping practices in work areas. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations. Wear necessary personal protective equipment as required. Actively participate in cross‑training, cost savings and team activities to improve processes. Maintain appropriate tact and diplomacy in dealings with co‑workers, team members and supervisors. Aerospace Assembly experience is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Degree/certificate from vocation school or college program is a plus, but experience may substitute for education. Physical Demands The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear. Compensation $40,000 - $100,000 / year Compensation is paid hourly and may be adjusted based on level of experience, overtime and shift.
