Industrial Electrician

Role & Responsibilities: Working safely is a top priority by adhering to the plant’s accident prevention policies. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Safely install, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical components within the manufacturing plant and other USG properties, including a quarry. Maintain, test and repair AC/DC motors and motor control systems. Develop skill set to troubleshoot advanced control system and instrumentation equipment including PLC controls. Interpret and use wiring schematics. Operate electrical test equipment inherent to the job. Know and understand NEC codes, become trained in NFPA-70E, and practice all other Industrial Electrician duties in a manufacturing environment. Participation in workplace organization and 5S Initiatives. Willingness to support and/or participate on continuous improvement projects. Qualifications & Requirements: Preferred experience with PLC and motor controls. Must have the desired technical skills to work safely and proficiently as an electrician in a manufacturing plant setting. Possess basic mechanical maintenance skills. Ability to interpret and perform tasks as detailed on printed work orders. Basic computer skills needed to complete safety training and review work‑related email. Ability to operate equipment as needed, including forklifts, etc. Familiar with common hand tools and how to properly use them. Good collaboration skills and ability to work as part of a team. Must be willing and available to take occasional after‑hour callouts as part of on‑call rotation. Willing and able to work in various hot, cold, and dusty environments. May be scheduled overtime as needed. This position is primarily dayshift hours but may occasionally be scheduled other than dayshift as needed to support plant operations. Additional Information: Shift: Days 7 AM to 3 PM Department: Reliability Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
