In this role, you'll be at the forefront of enabling AI assistant experiences in Apple's next-generation hardware platforms. You'll ensure that our software frameworks and environments are updated and modernized to adapt to the new architectures and usage scenarios of new products in the development pipeline. You'll also partner closely with product development teams and quality engineering groups as the owner of automation support. This position is ideal for systems & framework engineers who are passionate about quality, enjoy creating scalable simulation systems, and are eager to contribute to the success of pioneering AI products. If you have a strong background in software development and experience building tools for simulation and quality, we would love to hear from you!Minimum Qualifications5-10+ years of experience working as a Software Quality engineer with primary focus on automationExpertise in Python, Bash and/or Swift with exposure to ML/NLP librariesIn-depth knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing toolsDeveloping test plans, assessing risk, filing appropriate defects, and providing relevant data for test reportingDevelop and maintain robust testing frameworks using machine learning modelsExperience with developing test strategies, including: writing test plans, test cases, and testing architecturesExpertise with LLM usage to innovate and improve efficiency of the daily workBS/MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related fieldPreferred QualificationsStrong software engineering skills, including system design, development, testing, debugging, release and maintenanceDrive development and deployment of relevant ML testing tools and infrastructureDeep understanding of automated software testing methodologies and lifecycle, including integration testing, component mocking, and dependency injectionAbility to work independently, raise issues and take corrective actionsAbility to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolutionPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $144,600 and $263,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
