Job Title: Huck’s Market Store Manager Job Purpose: Every store manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the store within company policy and local laws, in a manner that ensures profitability while maintaining the highest level of customer service. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Customer Service Gives all customers prompt and courteous service adhering to all Best In Class standards Ensures that store appearance reflects company expectations and standards Ensures that the store is open and ready for business during all hours Handles all customer conflicts by using our method of MAKE IT RIGHT Profitability and ESOP Utilizes all tools and departments to ensure programs and policies are executed Manages all expenses and sales to budget (or better) Engages in neighborhood marketing through community involvement Participates in all suggestive selling contests by motivating Sales Associates General Management Commits to the Vision/Mission Statement (T.H.A.N.K.S.) Performs ongoing recruitment for talented candidates Effectively schedules associates to meet business demands per labor planner program Effectively communicates with store associates, Division Manager, and the corporate office Follows all federal, state and local laws and ordinances pertaining to store operation Sets a positive conduct example for other associates Controls variable store expenses Ensures adherence to uniform policy and prompt, courteous customer service Completes daily store manager checklists Ensures sales associate checklists are performed each shift Post two weeks’ schedules in advance per policy Accounting Ensures all paperwork is done accurately and timely Maintains inventory and cash loss within company guidelines Performs inventories, cash audits, cigarette counts, and cost/supply audits as directed Ensures daily store deposits to the bank (including weekends) Maintains sufficient change for operating hours Ensures required documents are sent to store analysts Human Resources Treats all associates with dignity and respect and uses proper personnel management techniques Ensures all associates receive breaks Advises division manager of personnel situations or policy violations affecting store operations Supports training programs and ensures associates are trained on their duties Ensures proper recording of hours worked and adherence to no-work-off-the-clock policy Provides an environment free of harassment or hostile conditions Complies with the Company’s Responsible Retailing policy Works with associates to support ongoing training and development Records hours worked in the workstation Security Follows associate cash handling procedures Maintains security video surveillance equipment in working order Maintains a safe shopping and working environment Protects company assets, including cash and merchandise Follows vendor check-in procedures per policy Keeps cash in one of three places: safe, cash register, or bank Posts promotional signs on the assigned dates Uses current plan-of-grams as directed Communicates with the District Manager for special needs or requests Ensures merchandise orders are sent properly to prevent stockouts Works with Direct Store Delivery (DSD) vendors to maintain 100% in stock Monitors inventory to prevent stockouts and communicates with leadership Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in all food service areas Maintenance Keeps floors clean and maintained Reports maintenance problems to the appropriate center or intranet channel Ensures equipment is in good working order Safety Ensures ladders are used properly Follows lifting procedures per policy Uses wet floor signs and dryers as required Reports accidents promptly Reports work-related injuries Ensures EPA regulations are met by complying with UST procedures Salary: Competitive; Benefits: health, dental, vision, life, ESOP, 401K with match, PTO, holidays Opportunities for career advancement and professional development Employee discounts for food and fuel Note The Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities list is incomplete but reflects the current job.
