Role Purpose & Responsibilities The physician will provide professional medical services within the practicing specialty to the best of the physician’s ability through direct patient care and may spend additional time on related duties such as completing medical records, MyChart consultations and inbasket management, patient-specific education, and collaboration with advanced practice providers and the care team. Manage medical care of patient panel, including inpatient hospital care when needed or arranging coverage with hospitalists while meeting Medical Staff requirements. Collaborate with patients, families and care team to ensure excellent patient care outcomes at clinic locations designated by BJC and any other outreach locations. Perform and document medical histories and physicals in the medical record as required by hospital medical staff bylaws. Provide or arrange for call coverage for clinic patients and inpatient care, adhering to BJC policies and professional standards. Collaborate and train advanced practice providers and support staff involved in patient care. This is a safety-sensitive position; the ability to work in a constant state of alertness is essential.
