Position: Assistant Retail Store Manager, Back-of-House (BOH) Operations As an Assistant Retail Store Manager, Back-of-House (BOH) Operations, you support the leadership of a Brooks brand store and work closely with the Retail Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager (FOH) to deliver the premium service experience customers expect. Your primary focus is operational excellence, overseeing smooth daily operations, creating staff schedules, supporting physical inventories, managing incoming and outgoing inventory, leading seasonal product flips, and helping drive sales through strong product storytelling and seamless store execution. Responsibilities Partner with the Store Manager to lead the overall BOH operation toward budgeted revenue and profit goals. Drive inventory efficiency and maximize sales by maintaining ideal inventory levels. Manage labor spend through educated scheduling choices. Coach, develop, and manage the performance of the store team to provide a premium level of service to all customers. Create and manage store schedules for effective staffing before, during, and after business hours. Monitor store cleaning and operations supplies and place all supply orders. Place inventory orders and partner with the Brooks Distribution Center to manage inventory flow during the Store Manager’s PTO. Manage receipt and return of all inventory coming to and from the store, including regular orders, RMAs, and transfers. Handle back-end responsibilities for returned unsellable inventory. Lead and organize seasonal product flips in partnership with the Store Manager and Visual Merchandising contact. Maintain expert product knowledge and train staff; facilitate quarterly product training for sales associates. Work the sales floor, using product knowledge to drive sell-through and service-oriented storytelling. Provide feedback and analysis to the Store Manager and Retail Operations Manager on a regular basis to ensure the store remains high-performing. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent years of experience can be considered. 3+ years of experience in retail; prior inventory management experience preferred. 1+ year of leadership experience within the retail industry, preferred. Knowledge of retail math, inventory management, turn, gross-margin, open-to-buy, product merchandising, and retail selling skills. Knowledge of performance athletic footwear, apparel, accessories, and their related technologies. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Ability to lead independently or alongside the store manager. Demonstrate innovation and initiative, always looking for improving processes. Ability to anticipate the impact of decisions on customers, partners, products, and other departments. Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust across the store and company. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with effective listening. Attention to detail in planning, organization, and execution while seeing the big picture. Passionate participation in Brooks’ sports activities is a plus, but not required. Highly motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude. Embraces and lives the Brooks values. Compensation The pay range for this position is $48,401 - $67,787 per year. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
