Diabetes Educator

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a Diabetes Educator to provide high-quality, evidence-based diabetes self-management education to patients and families in an academic, mission-driven environment. The Diabetes Educator will assess learning needs, design individualized education plans, and teach skills such as glucose monitoring, insulin administration, nutrition, and lifestyle modification. Working collaboratively with endocrinologists, primary care providers, nurses, dietitians, and pharmacists, this role supports coordinated, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include individual and group education, documentation in the EHR, participation in quality improvement and community outreach, and contribution to staff and patient education materials. The educator will stay current with ADA standards and emerging technologies like CGM and insulin pumps, with opportunities for professional development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and career growth across the Johns Hopkins system.
