Employee Type Non-Exempt FT Contact Information Phone View phone number on click.appcast.io Email View email address on click.appcast.io Purpose Independently perform in-field equipment diagnostics and repairs by operating a mobile service vehicle and traveling to customer locations. Candidates require a strong work ethic to complete a task efficiently with minimal supervision. The individual will serve as an in-field representative for the dealership to provide service solutions. Communication skills required to clearly articulate aspects of work being performed to a customer in a courteous and effective manner. Responsibilities Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology Perform diagnostics and repairs in the field as required Maintain accurate inventory of parts kept in stock on service vehicle Mentor Service Technician and Apprentice Technicians Identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities in area of responsibility Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and timely submittal of information Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge Operate and maintain vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge 5+ years of experience performing service repairs; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred Experience performing repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on machines of the Technician’s specialty Experience with the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in off-road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR or other computer-based diagnostic repair tools preferred. Experience working cooperatively in a team environment Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities Ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred Valid driver’s license required; CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred Requirements 1+ years of experience performing service repairs Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual Procedures Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes Proficient oral and written communication skills Ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred Valid driver’s license is required Fork lift license preferred Ag-Pro provides a comprehensive range of benefits for all full-time positions that includes medical, dental, vision and a matching 401-K retirement plan along with a variety of other optional benefits.
