Role: Registered Nurse (RN)

Facility Department/Cost Center: Pediatric Intensive Care

Shift: 3x12, Days

Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36

Call Requirements: None

Licenses: NV RN license required prior to start

Required Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS

Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of Pediatric/PICU experience; prior travel experience is required

Additional Comments: Travelers may be required to float to the needs of the organization up to their competency level. May be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the schedule period. The organization reserves the right to call off, without penalty, 48 hours prior to shifts for low census per contract. This may be full or partial shifts. Schedule varies based upon department needs and can include weekends and holidays.

Hospital Information

This position is based in a busy and fast-paced environment serving a 500-mile radius. It operates as a Level II Trauma Center with stroke accreditation and 800 in-patient beds. The volume and pace required to work here resemble that of a Level I trauma center.

Position Purpose

This position provides optimal patient care through the application of knowledge and skills within the nursing process. The incumbent is responsible for individualized patient outcomes throughout an entire episode of care, delivering comprehensive nursing services to patients across all age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, along with their families or caregivers.

Nature and Scope

This role involves diagnosing and treating human responses to health problems while ensuring the delivery of optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation efforts. The incumbent must demonstrate the cognitive and psychosocial needs specific to the populations served and meet the quality standards as measured by the unit's age-specific competency standards. Ongoing growth and learning are essential, and the involvement of family members or significant caregivers is encouraged in the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation processes. Additionally, care coordination among other professionals is expected.
