Overview Texas Oncology is looking for a Medical Dosimetrist to join the Plano West Radiation Team. In collaboration with the radiation oncologist and medical physicist, the Medical Dosimetrist will use critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to develop, generate, and evaluate treatment plans using computer software and manual calculations based on prescribed target region and avoidance dose criteria. The Dosimetrist may use a wide variety of patient imaging modalities registered to the planning images, assisting in the identification of physician‑delineated target structures and critical structures to be avoided. The role supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities Generate radiation therapy treatment plans in a timely manner using computer software and various imaging modalities, demonstrating strong attention to detail. Adapt to ever‑changing technology and be open to learning new systems and techniques. Perform routine duties independent of supervision but consult with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as required. Consult and communicate with therapists regarding the implementation of the treatment plan, including the correct use of immobilization devices, field arrangement, and other treatment variables. Perform or supervise the design and fabrication of immobilization devices, beam‑modifying devices (e.g., compensating filters, bolus, molds, custom shields) and treatment planning aids. Strong experience with Varian LINACs, Eclipse TPS, ARIA, RadCalc, EZFluence, ClearCheck, AutoContour, and MiM Software is a plus. Qualifications Credentials as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficient in planning VMAT, IMRT, SBRT/SRT, and 3D plans. Prior work in a Varian linear accelerator environment is a plus.
