Ingram Barge Company is looking to bring both entry level and experienced deckhands onboard.Before applying please note:You may be assigned to any river segment or vessel type based upon Company needs at time of your hire. As an Ingram associate, you will be reliable for your own transportation to and from your hitches.You will be required to obtain a TWIC card BEFORE OrientationAssisting deck crew in tow building (laying wires, tighten ratchets, sweep and shovel barges)Daily vessel housekeeping (sweeping, mopping and cleaning crew living quarters)Assisting with lockingCarrying rigging (ratchets, wires and straps) pumps, hoses and linesWorking outdoors for extended periods of time in weather conditions such as heat/cold & rain/snowChecking barges for water and leaks – which at times requires climbing into confined spacesUpkeep of vessel appearance includes sooging (washing), chipping and paintingAssisting the Engineer as requestedPracticing safe crew, vessel and tow operation using Ingram safety systemsParticipating in safety drills and auditsPerforming other related duties as assigned or requestedQualifications:Demonstration of the Ingram WayAbility to uphold Ingram's high safety standardsAbility to work away from home for extended periods (14, 21 or 28 day hitches)Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to respond quickly in an unexpected circumstanceDemonstration of critical thinking and decision making skillsStrong communication within all levels of the organizationAbility to demonstrate teamwork and acceptance of diversityMust be able to read and write the English language in order to comply with USCG regulatory requirementsMust obtain a valid TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
