Location and Shift 100 Grand Street, New Britain (10126) Shift: 3:30 p‑12 p every other weekend and holiday. Overview The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute‑care community teaching hospital that provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. The facility serves patients from birth through the end of life. Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Unit Secretary coordinates selected patient activities between the nursing unit and other internal departments, maintains and organizes patient medical records and nursing unit activity files, transcribes medical orders, and manages equipment and supplies. Qualifications 1–2 years of previous secretarial/clerical experience required. High School Diploma/GED preferred. Previous Unit or Medical Secretary experience preferred. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and balance multiple priorities required. PC skills and knowledge of medical terminology required. Excellent communication skills required.
