Phlebotomist I

Pay Range: $17.00hr - $21.00hr


Job Overview:


The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the organization to patients who arrive for routine care or health insights. The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for laboratory testing following established practices and procedures. This role involves direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The candidate will demonstrate leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, sensitivity to confidentiality, and accurate handling of patient information.


Responsibilities:

• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures with confidence.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public in general.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric care.
• Flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic training) preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 6 months of experience; 1+ years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboarding and data entry experience is required.
