Travel Registered Nurse - Pre-Op

Location: Wichita, KS

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Shift: 5A - 5P

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated Travel Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Operative team. The RN will be responsible for the care of patients in the Pre-Op Holding area, ensuring a smooth transition through the surgical process. The ideal candidate will prioritize patient experience and demonstrate strong communication skills with both staff and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the pre-operative care for patients undergoing various surgical and invasive procedures.
• Perform Phase 2 recoveries for Urology, GYN, and other same-day surgery patients.
• Administer medications and monitor patient vital signs during the pre-operative and recovery phases.
• Coordinate with anesthesiology and surgical teams to facilitate efficient patient flow.
• Provide education and support to patients regarding processes and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 1 year of current acute care Pre-Op RN hospital experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Preferred experience: Some pre-op experience or the capability to assist pre-op staff and familiarity with Meditech EMR.
