Property Accountant – JLL Location: Westmont, IL – Hybrid Job Overview As a Property Accountant at JLL, you will serve as the financial backbone for a dynamic portfolio of multifamily and retail properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting that drives informed business decisions. Your expertise will directly impact client satisfaction and property performance. Responsibilities Prepare comprehensive monthly and quarterly financial statements for a portfolio of 4 to 6 properties, meeting all deadlines. Execute the full financial close cycle, including journal entry preparation, financial statement compilation, and bank reconciliations. Serve as the primary financial resource and liaison for on-site property teams, addressing accounting questions and coordinating procedures. Coordinate and oversee the accounts payable process, reviewing invoice coding and approvals. Manage bank reconciliations, cash management activities for loan servicing, disbursement processing, and external reporting. Support the annual budget preparation, compiling financial assumptions and reviewing capital budget information. Lead the annual year‑end reconciliation process, including tenant recoverable calculations and accurate billing. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution. 2‑4 years of professional accounting experience, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling). Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Client‑focused, with a track record of building effective professional relationships. Preferred Qualifications Experience in multifamily and/or retail property accounting, and real estate industry knowledge. Familiarity with real estate accounting software (MRI or Yardi). Knowledge of Microsoft Access for database management. Experience supporting internal and external audit processes in a property management environment. Adaptability across varying property types and client requirements, with strong risk‑management skills. Visa and Compensation Position does not provide visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Estimated compensation range: $74,000 – $87,000 USD per year.
