Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Urgently Hiring
Shalom Staffing & CPR Services is a healthcare staffing agency that places dependable, well-trained professionals with CILA and IDD providers supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. We are urgently hiring Direct Support Professionals for placements in Crestwood, Aurora, Yorkville, Sugar Grove, and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meals, and household tasks
- Support individuals in reaching their goals using person-centered planning
- Encourage independence, community involvement, and social skills
- Assist with medication administration as trained and authorized
- Monitor health, safety, and behavior, and report any concerns
- Use crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques when needed
- Complete accurate daily documentation following IDHS/DDD standards
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license or state ID)
- Social Security card
- Must pass a background check
- Current CPR / First Aid / AED certification (training available if needed)
- Completion of the DSP Rule 50 test
- Reliable transportation to and from shifts (no driving for the company required)
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
