Litigation Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a full-time Litigation Attorney in Cortland, NY. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of litigation experience and be admitted to the New York State Bar. This role involves working within a dynamic practice group, focusing on client relationships and delivering comprehensive legal services. Duties Draft legal documents, including motions, discovery, and pleadings. Conduct depositions, appear for oral arguments, and attend client meetings. Negotiate settlements and advise clients. Perform legal research and draft Memoranda of Law. Oversee consultations with potential clients. Handle hearings, arbitrations, and trials. Requirements Current New York Bar admission. 3+ years of litigation experience required. Strong desire to further legal skills. Education Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Admitted to the New York State Bar. Skills Competently manage situations requiring diplomacy, fairness, and sound judgment. Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and promptly respond to client needs. Ability to write in a clear, concise, and effective manner. Excellent verbal communication and advocacy skills. Ability to perform quick and reliable research. Strong analytical, research, and writing skills. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively in person, by email, and telephone.
