Position Direct Support Professional Location Griffin, GA Job ID: 9548 # of Openings: 7 Status: Part-Time / Full-Time Pay: Starting at $15.00/hr Shift: 2nd & 3rd Shifts Available (with rotating weekend shifts required) Type: Entry-Level Job Summary The Direct Support Professional is responsible for guiding, coaching, and encouraging individuals in our program to achieve their maximum level of independence. The role involves ensuring opportunities for learning and growth in accordance with personal outcome measures through education and life experiences. Key Responsibilities Bathing Feeding Grooming/Hygiene upkeep Toileting Medication administration Transportation needs Daily documentation in Therap Cooking Cleaning Laundry Qualifications The position requires an individual who is 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Proficiency in written communication, a valid Georgia driver’s license, and the ability to meet the requirements of Volunteers of America Southeast’s vehicle insurance carrier are mandatory. Candidates must be able to collaborate effectively with the person receiving services, co‑workers, family members, related agencies, and others. They must assist individuals in achieving personal goals while promoting dignity and respect and communicate in a way that is most effective for each person. The contributor must pass all required training courses, including First Aid, CPR, CPI, and VOASE Policies & Procedures.
