Machine Maintenance Mechanic

Description: This full-time position is for the 2nd shift. Compensation will be based on experience plus Night Shift Differential. We are seeking a dependable, hands‑on Bihler Machine Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and support changeovers on Bihler equipment in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, solid mechanical aptitude, and the ability to solve problems quickly and logically while working safely and independently. This role requires someone who takes ownership of machine reliability, works well with production and maintenance teams, communicates clearly, and responds with urgency to minimize downtime. Responsibilities & Duties: Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, setup, and changeovers on Bihler machines and related production equipment Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues using manuals, drawings, schematics, and standard diagnostic tools Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions to reduce downtime Inspect, adjust, repair, and replace components such as motors, bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, sensors, valves, and other machine parts Complete maintenance logs, work orders, spare‑parts usage, and repair records accurately and on time Work closely with operators, supervisors, engineering, and fellow maintenance team members to improve machine performance and reliability Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety rules and operating procedures Demonstrate strong work ethic, positive attitude, accountability, and a proactive approach to problem solving Skills & Requirements: Ability to perform the physical duties of a maintenance role in a manufacturing environment, including standing, bending, and lifting as needed Ability to work safely around industrial equipment and follow all safety procedures Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications, Etc.: High school diploma or GED required; technical training or vocational education is a plus 3+ years of hands‑on maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment; direct Bihler machine experience strongly preferred Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability with working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, machine components, and basic electrical systems Ability to read and interpret machine manuals, drawings, schematics, and written instructions Self‑motivated team player with dependable attendance, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently Mechanically competent, safety‑conscious, and confident solving problems under pressure Experience with PLCs or controls troubleshooting is a plus Additional Notes: Benefits include 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee assistance program Employee discount Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Referral program Retirement plan Vision insurance #J-18808-Ljbffr
