THE POSITIONThe Education Administration Specialist with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Food and Nutrition, plays a key role in supporting statewide school nutrition efforts. This position offers the chance to guide important programs that help students access nutritious meals. DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position supports the regulated School Nutrition Programs by guiding compliance, reviewing data, and improving procedures. The role ensures sponsors understand and meet program requirements across Pennsylvania. As an Education Administration Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Regulatory Analysis: Evaluate federal and state regulations and apply methods that support compliance
- Policy Review: Identify gaps in policies and procedures and develop improvements
- Data Reporting: Compile complex data reports and respond to inquiries from stakeholders
- Program Outreach: Analyze participation data and create outreach plans to expand engagement
- Technical Guidance: Represent the agency and provide expertise to help sponsors understand requirements
- System Oversight: Support CN PEARS and other technology systems and assist with system updates

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Staff is required to report to the worksite one day a week (Thursday). In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $69,086.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Education Administration Associate; or
- Four years of professional experience in education including at least two years in educational administration; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
