♦The primary responsibility of a Classroom Teacher Assistant is to work with children who may have special needs within the classroom and assist with various classroom duties.
♦Experience with 3-5 year old children is preferred. Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development Associate (CDA), or Early Childhood Course I and II are preferred, or a high school diploma with six months of work or volunteer experience with young children is required; Head Start experience is preferred.
♦This position is for 5 hours Monday and 8 hours per day, Tuesday – Friday, for approximately 9 1⁄2 months/year. Wage is $14.70-$16.81 per hour depending on training and experience.
♦Wood County Head Start promotes further education through monthly trainings and provides a tuition reimbursement option for dedicated staff.
