Senior Mechanical Engineer

A leading engineering and design firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its Mission Critical team. This group supports the design and delivery of complex, high-performance facilities for major technology and telecommunications clients, including data centers and other critical infrastructure environments. This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, contributing to projects from concept through completion. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and developing innovative solutions for operationally sensitive facilities. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction professionals to develop and deliver mechanical design solutions across all project phases Interface directly with clients, owners, and contractors to support project execution Design air-side HVAC systems , including DX systems, chilled water AHUs, ductwork, and computer room air handling units Design water-side systems , including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and piping networks Perform HVAC load calculations and system sizing Develop project phasing plans, including temporary systems to maintain uptime in live environments Conduct facility assessments, engineering studies, and troubleshooting activities Mentor and support junior engineering staff Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one U.S. state Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in data center or mission critical mechanical design Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or BIM360 preferred Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Additional Requirements Ability to perform site walks in active facilities, including navigating mechanical rooms, rooftops, ladders, and equipment areas Willingness and ability to travel to job sites and client locations as needed, including occasional overnight travel #J-18808-Ljbffr Atlas Connections
