Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Outpatient Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (07:00 - 17:30) Experience: 2 years required, first-time travelers accepted with experience License: Compact license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Pediatric experience required; skill set in General Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Breast Surgery, ENT, and Pediatrics Description: Permanent candidates from any other facility are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All facilities honor active compact licenses. Call requirements include 2 weekdays and 1 weekend call on a 6-week schedule period. Call hours are from Monday to Thursday, 5 PM to 9 PM and Friday, 5 PM to 11 PM. No Sunday call hours. A 30-minute travel time is required for call back or stay over the end of shift. Circulate in both inpatient and outpatient OR cases with approximately 40% inpatient and 60% outpatient, and 20% pediatrics. Hard skills required include blood and blood products administration, cardioversion, defibrillation, cooling and warming blankets, drains, syringe pumps, and wound vacs. Candidates may be expected to float between nearby facilities if required for the assignment. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Providers must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays during the contract. All vacation requests must be specified upfront during the application process. Post-submission requests may not be considered. Inflexibility beyond the contracted schedule may lead to termination of the contract. References are required, covering the last 1 year of experience within the last 3 years. Communication devices needed to perform duties will be supplied. Providers will be responsible for submitting monthly bills directly to the agency if their mobile phone is not provided.
