Senior Java Software Engineer

A leading quantitative trading firm is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join their Trading & Execution group. This team owns the systems responsible for capturing, processing, and maintaining the firm's real-time view of trading activity, positions, and risk. Every trade flows through these systems. Every position depends on them. Their performance, reliability, and accuracy are fundamental to the firm's ability to systematically trade effectively at scale. This is an opportunity to work on some of the most critical technology in the business, solving complex distributed systems and low-latency engineering challenges in an environment where technical excellence is highly valued. What You'll Do Build and optimise the systems that power trade capture, position management, and real-time trading workflows. Design distributed platforms capable of processing millions of events with high reliability and low latency. Work closely with traders, execution teams, and engineers to deliver critical trading infrastructure. Own major technical initiatives from design through production. What We're Looking For 7+ years of software engineering experience. Deep expertise building high-performance Java systems. Strong understanding of JVM internals, GC optimisation, and low-latency design. Experience with concurrent programming, lock-free algorithms, and distributed systems.
