Podiatrist (DPM) Fort Yuma Health Care Center (FYHCC)

Location: 401 Picacho Road, Winterhaven, California 92283

Contract Type: Federal One-Year Contract (Base Period) Indian Health Service BPA Call, nonpersonal health care services

Estimated Start Date: November 1, 2026 (facility estimate; subject to award, security clearance, and credentialing/privileging timelines)

Schedule: Monday Friday, Pacific Time (40 hrs/week), excluding Federal holidays; full-day, partial-day, or intermittent BPA call clinic sessions.

Credentialing Lead Time: Candidate package due at least 45 calendar days before proposed start date; no performance may begin until security, onboarding, and credentialing/privileging are complete and the Government issues written start authorization.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform podiatric examinations, treatment planning, and medically necessary follow-up within granted privileges.
• Evaluate and manage foot, ankle, and lower-extremity conditions; prescribe medications/conservative therapies as authorized.
• Perform wound care, debridement, nail/callus care, injections, and other minor podiatric procedures.
• Document all encounters same-day in the Government EHR; coordinate referrals to orthopedics, vascular, or wound care as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) from an accredited institution

• Active, unrestricted podiatry license in any U.S. State, D.C., Puerto Rico, or U.S. Territory

• Completion of accredited podiatric residency + 2 years' recent outpatient podiatry/ambulatory surgery/wound care experience

• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)

• Able to obtain and maintain FYHCC security access, credentialing, and clinical privileges

Taxed W-2 Hourly Rate

$145.00 /hr ($5,800.00 hrs)

Weekly Per Diem (Lodging + M&IE)

$1,246.00 /week (non-taxable, GSA CONUS basis)

Blended Effective Hourly Rate

$176.15 /hr (taxed wage + per diem 40 hrs)

1099 Independent Contractor Rate

$177.00 /hr, all-inclusive (no per diem stacking; contractor responsible for self-employment tax)

One-Time Travel Allowance

$750 (single lump-sum reimbursement for relocation/mileage/airfare to assignment start)
