Patent Agent - Electrical

Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property and Technology Division in Kansas City, MO. The successful candidate will draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications, provide patentability assessments, and assist with freedom to operate and due diligence assessments. Duties Draft and globally prosecute patent applications. Coordinate with foreign law firms for patent filings. Maintain client patent portfolios and manage deadlines. Collaborate with clients for document processing and legalization. Prepare and send notices regarding upcoming deadlines. Delegate tasks effectively to paralegals and legal assistants. Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution. Experience managing patent prosecution docket. Ability to collaborate with partners and legal staff. Law firm or in-house IP experience. Education Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or similar field. Certifications U.S. Patent & Trademark Office registration. Skills Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
