Substitute School Nurse

On-call Positions

This posting will be used to create a pool of applicants for positions that may become available during the current school year. On-call positions (No benefits package)

Salary

• LPN $23.25/hour
• RN $31.35/hour

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as an LPN or RN and eligible to practice in the State of Maryland.
• Ability to communicate effectively using the English language when deemed necessary.
• Current CPR certification.
• Preferred at least one year of LPN or RN experience.
• Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of medical equipment.
• Must be able to effectively perform physical tasks such as pulling, pushing, bending, reaching and lifting up to 50lbs.
• Ability to communicate effectively using the English language when deemed necessary.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the management of the health suite.
• Assess students complaints of illness or injury and determine appropriate action to be taken.
• Administer first aid and emergency care.
• Handle and administer prescribed medication to students.
• Complete appropriate forms to report student accidents.
• Report suspected child abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.
