Position Summary

GD Resources LLC is seeking a qualified Primary Care Physician (MD/DO), specializing in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, for an anticipated long-term outpatient assignment supporting Veteran healthcare services in Mankato, Minnesota.

The selected physician will deliver comprehensive, patient-centered primary care to an established panel of approximately 1,000 Veterans. This opportunity offers a consistent weekday schedule in a collaborative clinical setting with an emphasis on continuity of care, chronic disease management, preventive healthcare and coordinated treatment.

The position requires full-time onsite availability and successful completion of the Department of Veterans Affairs credentialing and privileging process.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care for adult and Veteran patients, including routine examinations, preventive services and evaluation of acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Manage an established patient panel of approximately 1,000 individuals.
• Evaluate and treat up to approximately 14 scheduled patients daily, with up to 4 additional walk-in patients depending on clinical demand.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate care for patients with multiple chronic conditions.
• Order, review and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging and other appropriate clinical studies.
• Prescribe medications and monitor treatment effectiveness.
• Coordinate referrals and consultations with specialists and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care coordination and Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) meetings.
• Counsel patients on preventive care, treatment options, chronic disease management and health maintenance.
• Document patient encounters accurately and promptly using the VA's electronic medical record system.
• Follow established patient safety, infection control, privacy and professional practice standards.
• Participate in required clinical quality improvement activities, continuing education and VA training.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Current, full and unrestricted medical license, meeting applicable VA credentialing and licensure requirements.
• Current and valid DEA registration.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications, or VA-accepted equivalent where applicable.
• Demonstrated experience in outpatient primary care, general medicine and chronic disease management.
• Ability to obtain and maintain VA credentialing and clinical privileges.
• Excellent clinical judgment, patient communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Commitment to consistent onsite attendance throughout the assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience caring for Veterans or working in a VA healthcare environment.
• Familiarity with VA CPRS or comparable electronic health record systems.
• Experience managing large adult primary care panels.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary care for older adults and patients with complex chronic medical needs.
• Availability for a long-term assignment with limited schedule interruptions.

Work Schedule and Assignment Conditions

This is an onsite position in Mankato, Minnesota. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Central Time. The clinic is closed on observed federal holidays.

Time off requires advance coordination and approval. The successful candidate must be able to meet the assignment's attendance, credentialing and professional requirements.
