Land Transportation Category Manager

Job Summary The Category Manager Supply Chain Procurement - Intermodal Transportation is accountable for sourcing and contracting strategies and implementation for Road, Rail and Intermodal Logistics Services across the Americas Region for finished goods, manufacturing, and raw materials/feedstocks. Responsibilities Develop regional category procurement strategies for road, rail, and intermodal logistics services and manage sourcing & contracting. Assess business requirements, conduct tenders, evaluate offers, award and negotiate contracts. Lead contract negotiations and placement of contracts to create value for supply chain needs. Benchmark rates, ensure routes and rates meet requirements, and contract new lanes in a timely fashion. Manage supplier performance, segment supplier base, review KPI performance to meet expectations. Engage internally with Supply Chain Management, Operations, Procurement, Legal, HR, EHSS, Sustainability, and Finance; report metrics and prepare reports/presentations. Provide business-relevant market information and trends to stakeholders. Requirements Master's degree in Economics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or equivalent; or Bachelor’s degree plus extensive relevant training and experience. More than 10 years in category management, procurement, supply chain, sourcing, and contracting of land, rail, and intermodal transportation services. At least 7 years directly managing procurement of rail transportation and logistics service categories, including freight and railcar contract negotiations. Proven negotiation, people management, analytical, change management, cultural awareness, and communication skills. Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills. Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus. Strong SAP experience; Ariba experience preferred.
