Electromechanical Assembler (Instrument Assembly Technician) – Sparks, MD (Onsite)
Location: Sparks, MD 21152
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (OT as needed)
Pay: $21.84/hr
Summary
Hiring an experienced Electromechanical Assembler to build and integrate instruments in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role includes wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, build-to-print assembly, quality inspections, and rework/troubleshooting. Great fit for candidates who take pride in clean workmanship, accuracy, and following detailed work instructions.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electronic/mechanical assemblies and subassemblies (modules, boards, panels, frames, cables)
- Perform wiring, component installation, cable harnessing, fitting, and hand soldering
- Build from diagrams/drawings and follow methods/sequence of operations and work instructions
- Perform quality checks, rework/repair, and reassembly to meet specifications and tolerances
- Execute basic component testing and pass/fail checks as needed
- Track device history information (serial numbers/tools) and maintain documentation accuracy
- Maintain housekeeping/5S, follow safety policies, and work within GMP/quality procedures
- Support training/mentoring of associates and continuous improvement activities
Qualifications
- HS diploma/GED + 3 years manufacturing experience OR AA technical degree + 1 year experience
- Experience in a regulated environment (GMP/quality procedures)
- Strong blueprint/drawing interpretation and measurement/tolerance awareness
- Skilled with tools (torque drivers, gauges, hand/power tools); comfortable in repetitive standing work
