Consulting CFO | Portland, Oregon$170,000 to $185,000 Base Salary DOENOW CFO is seeking an experienced Consulting CFO to join our Portland team. This full time role is ideal for a hands on financial executive who can provide strategic CFO leadership while also stepping into the details when needed. Candidates must bring extensive construction industry experience, including strong exposure to construction accounting, project financials, and ideally land acquisition and land development.As a Consulting CFO, you will partner directly with business owners and executive teams across multiple client engagements to improve financial visibility, strengthen cash flow, enhance reporting, and support strategic decision making. Candidates should be based in the Portland area and comfortable traveling to clients throughout Portland, Vancouver, Salem, and surrounding markets as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a strategic CFO advisor to business owners and executive teamsLead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and financial analysisSupport construction clients with job costing, WIP reporting, percentage of completion accounting, project profitability, cost to complete analysis, and margin reviewProvide financial guidance related to land acquisition, land development, and project planning when applicableAnalyze financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, cash flow, and operationsEvaluate accounting and finance processes and implement practical improvementsDevelop financial models, dashboards, forecasts, and executive reportingPartner with Controllers and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reportingSupport internal controls, audit preparation, lender reporting, and compliance requirementsManage multiple client engagements and priorities in a fast paced consulting environmentQualificationsSenior financial leadership experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Director of Finance, Controller, or similar roleExtensive construction industry experience requiredStrong experience with job costing, WIP reporting, percentage of completion accounting, project accounting, cash flow management, and project profitabilityLand acquisition and land development experience strongly preferredExperience across multiple industries is a plusStrong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controlsAbility to operate strategically while remaining comfortable with hands on financial and accounting workStrong analytical, problem solving, leadership, and communication skillsComfortable advising business owners, executives, lenders, and accounting teamsAbility to quickly assess client needs and provide practical financial solutionsExperience working with ERP and accounting systemsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferredMust be comfortable traveling throughout the Portland metro area and surrounding markets, including Vancouver and SalemWhy NOW CFONOW CFO gives experienced financial leaders the opportunity to work across a variety of businesses, industries, and financial challenges while making a direct impact on client organizations.If you are an experienced financial executive with deep construction expertise who enjoys consulting, strategic problem solving, and hands on financial leadership, we would love to hear from you.#IND2
