In this role, you will apply advanced underwriting expertise to evaluate and decision residential loan applications while ensuring adherence to company guidelines and regulatory requirements. This position involves working with partners on complex matters, making strong communication skills, professionalism, and sound judgment essential./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3ulliReview, analyze, and underwrite residential mortgage applications according to company policies, investor standards, and regulatory requirements./liliAnalyze income, assets, credit documentation, employment history, credit reports, debt ratios, and loan-to-value (LTV) metrics to determine borrower creditworthiness./liliEvaluate the collateral/property appraisal when applicable./liliRecommend loan terms or conditions as necessary./liliReview system-generated documentation and ensure completeness and accuracy./liliGather additional information when needed to support loan decisions./liliCommunicate lending decisions and respond to inquiries from affiliate banks, loan centers, and branch personnel./liliMaintain accountability for risk elevation and adherence to underwriting policies and procedures./liliExercise independent judgment on unusually complex problems./liliStay abreast of changes to federal and state laws/regulations affecting consumer lending./liliPerform other duties as assigned./li/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulli5+ years experience with government mortgage underwriting (FHA and VA)./lili5+ years experience with agency and/or portfolio mortgage underwriting./liliActive FHA DE and VA SAR designations are required./liliProficiency with mortgage software and related tools, including Encompass 360 (LOS), Desktop Underwriter (DU), and Loan Product Advisor (LPA)./liliExtensive knowledge of mortgage credit, underwriting concepts, and loan documentation./liliProven ability to review and analyze complex income scenarios, assets, credit reports, debt ratios, and LTV calculations./liliStrong understanding of federal and state consumer lending regulations./liliAbility to make sound, consistent credit decisions with a high degree of accuracy./liliExceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain quality while managing high loan volume./liliStrong written and verbal communication and customer service skills./liliAbility to handle confidential information professionally./li/ulh3Benefits/h3ulliSalary range: $39.56 $58.03 per hour depending on experience plus a performance-based incentive plan./liliMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance - START DAY ONE!/liliLife and Disability Insurance, Paid Parental Leave and Adoption Assistance./liliHealth Savings (HSA), Flexible Spending (FSA) and dependent care accounts./liliPaid Training, Paid Time Off (PTO).
