Job Summary The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered respiratory care in accordance with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. The role includes performing diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures and monitoring patients on invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation. Responsibilities Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy. Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy. Assist with placement of artificial airways. Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation. Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify provider, intervening as appropriate when necessary. Assist with transportation of ventilator‑dependent patients. Respond to emergent patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation. Qualifications Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/RCP-State) with NBRC‑RRT certification. Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
