Senior Software Engineer – YC Backed AI Startup $150,000–$200,000 + Meaningful Equity + Medical, Dental & Vision + Unlimited PTO Austin, TX | Fully Onsite We're looking for an exceptional senior engineer to join the early engineering team of a YC-backed, venture-funded AI startup in Austin. You'll work directly with experienced founders and a small, high-calibre engineering team, taking ownership across a full-stack Python/AWS environment, building everything from scalable backend systems and cloud infrastructure to modern web applications and AI-powered products. The core environment is Python, AWS and modern full-stack development, with AI embedded into the product. They're looking for strong engineers who can work across the stack, not specialists confined to one layer. The Opportunity Own major systems from architecture through production Build highly scalable full-stack products using Python, AWS, React and TypeScript Solve complex distributed systems and infrastructure problems Build and ship AI-powered products and features used by enterprise customers Influence technical direction and engineering standards Work directly with the founders with minimal bureaucracy Join early with meaningful equity and genuine ownership The Engineer The technical bar is high.
