About the Vision
At Ingleside, corporate worship is a vital part of God’s people responding to the person and work of Jesus Christ in singing the Lord’s praises to Him and encouraging one another. In all three weekly worship services (8:30, 9:40, and 11:00 am), the goal is for the congregation’s attention and affection to be set on Jesus through participating in excellent musical worship that is biblical and singable. Among many other things, Ingleside is certainly a place with many talented players, singers, and artists utilizing their gifts for the glory of God and the benefit of a singing and musical church family.

The Worship Arts Pastor and Team Leader plays a pivotal role in leading out this vision of corporate worship. As a trained musician and skilled leader, he will be the principal musical leader in the 9:40 and 11:00 am services (blended, leaning contemporary) with a large choir, orchestra, band, and praise team, as well as providing delegated leadership in the 8:30 service (traditional). He will guide a team of full and part-time musical and production staff to grow in Christlikeness, lead excellently, and support church-wide or other ministry events as team players. He will select biblically rich and singable songs for weekly and other services. He will be the tip of the spear for some large churchwide events like the annual Christmas Presentation. Ultimately, he will help further Ingleside’s mission to “make disciples of Jesus Christ for the glory of God.”

Ingleside Baptist Church, founded on October 4, 1951, is beautifully nestled on a lush, green campus of rolling hills and mature trees in Macon, Georgia. Under the leadership of Dr. Justin Nalls, Ingleside is a thriving church with an orientation toward the next generation. In every detail, from worship services to buildings, they strive toward the overall priority of making disciples for the glory of God who come to worship, grow in a group, serve in the body, and go with the gospel. They are also gearing up for an exciting season with the “NEXT” initiative, a campaign to renovate many areas of their campus to help reach “the next person, the next family, the next generation.”

Ingleside is rooted in Scripture and believes that lives are transformed when biblical truth is applied. People who call Ingleside home are genuine at every level and are dedicated to service because “every member is on mission!” Expectations for excellent ministry are high, consistent with a long-held culture and modeled by church staff. Ingleside is currently home to over 5,000 members, with around 2,000 in attendance during three weekend services.

About the Opportunity

The Worship Arts Pastor and Team Leader will provide executive-level and key ministry functions in the following ways:

• Executive Leadership
  • Work closely with the Pastor’s Leadership Team (PLT) to collaborate, problem-solve, and promote unity
  • Coordinate with the Executive Pastor regarding calendaring, ministry initiatives, and day-to-day Worship Arts ministry decisions
  • Work with the Worship Arts Team and PLT for short and long-term calendaring and ministry planning
• Worship Leadership
  • Work directly with the Lead Pastor to plan all worship services and provide primary leadership to 9:40 and 11:00 am services
  • Plan and lead musical components of seasonal services and events
  • Provide oversight to Kid Sessions (children’s choir) and Student Sessions (student players, singers, and choir)
  • Provide direct and indirect musical and production support for other ministries and ministry events
• Team and Staff Leadership
  • Recruit, lead, and supervise full and part-time members of the Worship Arts Team
  • Facilitate strategic, tactical, and one-on-one staff meetings with the Worship Arts Team
  • Conduct cross-team meetings to effectively carry out services and/or events with musical and production components
  • Using an established budgeting process, the Worship Arts Pastor will plan, steward, and execute the ministry’s budget
• Pastoral Leadership
  • Shepherd Worship Arts staff and volunteers as well as members of the larger church family
  • Have evangelistic, baptism, and counseling conversations
