Overview The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. The nurse functions within the organization’s policies and procedures, demonstrates professional growth and accountability, maintains standards of practice, and coordinates patient care activities of all assigned staff to provide quality nursing care. Responsibilities Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. Maintain standards of practice and coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff to provide quality nursing care. Qualifications – Education Graduate from a nursing program – Required Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred Qualifications – Work Experience No experience required; New graduates of a nursing program eligible – Required Nursing experience in hospital setting – Preferred 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions – Required Qualifications – Licenses and Certifications RN – Registered Nurse – Georgia State licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate licensure – Current license required BCLS – Basic Life Support – Required Qualifications – Additional Licenses and Certifications Advanced certification in specialty field, if applicable. Qualifications – Addendum Cardiac Tele: ACLS certification within 6 months of start date (within 180 days) – Required Critical Care: ACLS certification within 6 months of start date – Required Dialysis: CDI (Certified Dialysis Certificate) – Preferred Emergency Department: ACLS and PALS certification; emergency nurses have 6 months to obtain PALS – Required Infusion/Oncology: Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration – Required Pediatrics: PALS or PEARS certification within 180 days – Required Surgical Services: PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS; PALS for pediatric units or BLS only – Required within 180 days Women’s Services: Labor and Delivery ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within specified timelines – Required within 180 days Business Unit Piedmont Fayette Hospital #J-18808-Ljbffr Piedmont HealthCare
