As an Associate Analyst, you’ll be at the forefront of this dynamic service line, driving change and delivering solutions that revolutionize business operations. You'll help our clients in transformation and innovation efforts: driving growth, reducing costs, and managing risks proactively. You’ll be based in one of our Service Delivery Centers, working closely with client-serving professionals to deliver project‑based support work to commercial, financial, and government clients. Your key responsibilities You will have a real impact from your first day, applying actuarial and/or analytical skills to diverse employee benefits financial modeling, related to operational/vendor evaluation and compliance matters. You’ll spend your time working with core audit teams by helping them review company disclosures for defined benefit pension plans and assessing compliance with accounting standards. You’ll also collect and analyze data, program calculations, monitor project timelines, and document your findings. You will process, compare and summarize census data and help prepare complex actuarial valuations and related financial disclosures. You will review annual tax and financial disclosures in connection with required annual audits, assess financial and compliance risks in retirement and benefit plans, and prepare individual benefit calculations for pension programs. You may prepare annual employee benefit plan filings in accordance with IRS or DOL regulations. As part of that, you’ll need to be a critical thinker who can take on complex projects and communicate technical knowledge simply and effectively to clients and team members. Skills and attributes for success To qualify for the role, you must have An undergrad or master’s degree with a concentration in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics (and pursuing Pension and/or Health) An understanding of the actuarial exam and certification process with a start on the exam process underway (successful completion of one or more actuarial exams preferred), or a commensurate level of continuing education for non‑actuarial areas of focus. Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations. The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Ideally, you will have Familiarity with time value of money and interest calculations Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint A purpose‑driven and growth‑oriented professional with a passion for learning, a collaborative mindset, and a proven ability to innovate, adapt, and leverage technology to drive meaningful change in dynamic business environments. Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills with a strong academic foundation in business and/or technology and demonstrated ability to evaluate complex issues and develop effective solutions. Knowledge of how to leverage firm‑approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot. The base salary for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $59,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
