Willow Rock is a 16-bed Psychiatric Health Facility in Alameda County serving adolescents 12-17 years old with acute psychiatric symptoms. Position Summary The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)/Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) provides recovery-focused services, including safe administration of medical treatment (including medications) as prescribed by a physician. The role involves safe, effective, and efficient direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care. Shifts Available Full-Time 0.8 | PM | Shifts: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM | Days: Saturday – Tuesday Expected starting wage: $29.02 – $47.00 /hr. Shift differentials for hourly staff: 6% for PM Shift, 10% for Overnight Shift. Weekend Shift differentials: 5% for Weekend AM Shift, 11% for Weekend PM Shift, 15% for Weekend Overnight Shift. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited LVN/LPT program and current licensure Current CPR/BLS certificate At least 18 years of age CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days, and maintained throughout employment Successful completion of post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test, acceptable criminal background clearance, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, a valid driver license, motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance are required at time of employment and throughout employment. Preferred Previous experience with the population served and/or work in a similar program setting At least 1 year of experience Understanding of psychiatric illness, its treatment, and knowledge of psychotropic medication Essential Functions Demonstrate Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with internal and external stakeholders Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with members served Provide nursing care and assist with welcoming, admission, and discharge processes Collect data relevant to care and develop and implement nursing care plans Demonstrate knowledge of crisis management and intervention Transcribe physician orders accurately and in a timely manner Administer medication and treatments to members served Receive and present change-of-shift reports as assigned Adhere to medication management policies and procedures Notify prescriber and nursing supervisor of any changes in behavior or condition Document progress toward Recovery Plan goals Attend and participate in community meetings and groups Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and treatment planning meetings Coordinate and participate in counting medications and giving report at the beginning and end of each shift If employed at inpatient program, assist with restraint of members in the event of assaultive behavior and pass assault crisis/crisis prevention training If employed at outpatient program, assist with restraint of members in the event of assaultive behavior and pass assault crisis/crisis prevention training Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, and/or changed at the discretion of management. Skills Review and implement Recovery/Treatment plans Support medical and psycho‑social care for members served Administer oral and injectable medications Act as a team member and provide input via reporting observations and concerns, and asking appropriate questions Review and implement recovery treatment plans for members served Implement physical crisis and de‑escalation techniques Physical Demands The role requires occasional sitting, squatting, kneeling, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying items weighing 25 pounds or less, as well as frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and simple and power grasping. The position requires manual dexterity, repetition, and exposure to hazardous materials (bloodborne pathogens, hospital waste, chemical & infectious hazards).
