Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate patients' psychological states and formulate personalized treatment strategies.
  • Develop and execute individualized treatment plans that take into account patients’ unique diagnoses and circumstances.
  • Implement various evidence-based therapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), to facilitate patient growth.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for patients to discuss emotional challenges and enhance coping strategies.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during moments of mental health emergencies, demonstrating the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding mental health issues, treatment pathways, and community resources available for additional support.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in regular professional development activities, including case conferences and training sessions to stay informed on best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will involve engaging with a diverse range of clients who present with various mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, mood disorders, PTSD, and personality disorders. Our practice serves individuals from different backgrounds, reflecting the social dynamics of Athens, Georgia, making cultural competence an essential part of this role.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • A current, valid license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Georgia.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive mental health assessments and develop effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Proficient in various therapeutic approaches with experience in both individual and group therapy settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for building trust and rapport with clients.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth best practices is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

  • At least two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of trauma-informed care and an array of evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to maintain professionalism in a high-stress environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 75,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer a robust benefits package that includes:
