Work Environment

The position is primarily based on-site at our Rehabilitation Facility in Roanoke, Virginia. You will work with a diverse team of healthcare professionals who are committed to improving patient outcomes. Our rehabilitation facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and resources to support effective treatment processes and promote patient recovery.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting thorough examinations and evaluations to understand each patient’s functional limitations and disabilities.
  • Developing personalized treatment plans aimed at addressing the unique needs of patients with orthopedic conditions.
  • Acting as a resource and consultant for other healthcare providers, offering insights into patients’ progress and ongoing care needs.
  • Interacting positively and professionally with a diverse patient base, respecting their individual backgrounds and ensuring high standards of customer service.
  • Performing detailed evaluations and interpreting clinical findings to update treatment and discharge plans accordingly.
  • Engaging in continuous patient education to assist individuals and their families in understanding the treatment process and home care requirements.
  • Maintaining robust communication channels with the interdisciplinary treatment team, referring physicians, and other stakeholders through verbal, written, and electronic methods.
  • Participating in leadership activities such as community outreach initiatives, quality improvement programs, and professional development opportunities.
  • Taking part in staff meetings and actively pursuing continuing education to stay current with evolving techniques and best practices in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at our clinic, you will primarily focus on patients with orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to joint replacements, sports injuries, and post-surgical rehabilitation. You will work closely with individuals of various ages and backgrounds, ensuring their unique needs are addressed through tailored treatment approaches.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
  • A current State License in Physical Therapy.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective interaction with patients and team members.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and related software tools.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in orthopedic rehabilitation and familiarity with evidence-based practice approaches will be given preference. Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation technologies is also advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
