The ideal candidate has a strong read on the AI stack and a background that spans both business and technical work. The Role We're seeking an investor to join our growing SF team, Associate to VP level, to help drive new investments across the AI stack, from infrastructure and compute to models, inference, and tooling, with room to flex across consumer, fintech, and enterprise. We make ~5 new investments a year, giving us the time to build deep conviction and compete for the handful of companies that can define a fund. Responsibilities: Develop theses and source investments across AI stack. Lead and support deal execution, financial modeling, memos, and board work. Engage our corporate ecosystem and LP network to surface opportunities and insights. Build and nurture a network to represent Cathay across the ecosystem through events, conferences, and thought leadership. Qualifications: Strong understanding of the AI stack (infra, compute, inference, models, dev tooling); semiconductors, robotics, or autonomy a plus Unusually high work ethic and comfort spending substantial time in the field, including with AI labs and technical teams Curious by nature.
