Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. RN License issued by the State of California. BLS and ACLS at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six months of hire. Moderate Sedation Certified within three months of hire. Two or more years of IR experience. Excellent communication and influence skills with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and external constituents. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple responsibilities and assess complex problems. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, consistently demonstrating empathy and kindness. Adherence to UCSD Health Medical Center (C.A.R.I.N.G.) Standards of Performance and professionalism in attire, attitude, conversation, behavior and attentiveness to others. Preferred Qualifications BSN/MSN degree. Moderate Sedation Certified. Obtained PALS certification within six months. Special Conditions Flexibility to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call, and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs. Employment subject to criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Selected candidate may be hired at CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $190,342 - $190,342 (prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $91.16 - $91.16. Vaccination & Certifications If employed by the University of California, must comply with the Policy on Vaccination Programs. Additionally, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) require hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
