Leveraging rigorous engineering principles, the team integrates safety into every phase of the system lifecycle, enhancing reliability and safeguarding our warfighters.We are currently hiring for System Safety Engineer II. This is an onsite role and can be located in Woburn, Tewksbury, Marlborough, Andover or Portsmouth RI. What You Will Do:Execute the safety strategy for the program to meet all its milestones with system safety/HSI features integrated into the product in compliance with contract and awarded fundingSupport the program schedule and integrated system safety tasks and activities into program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)Engage the Lead System Safety Engineer and Portfolio Engineering Lead for guidance on technical execution, artifact review, attending customer reviews, etc. Support multi-IPT program meetings to ensure that system safety items are considered and to understand current program-wide issuesEnsure program leadership understands system safety requirements, hazards, and planned mitigationsMeet internal and external commitments (deliveries)Own technical solutions and collaborate across IPTs to realize the solution that makes the overall product development and test successfulQualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experienceExperience with risk assessment conceptsExperience with creating technical reports, technical writing and/or creating presentationsQualifications We Prefer:Active/transferable DoD security clearanceExperience with test equipment & test equipment safety, in a laboratory settingExperience performing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400)Experience reviewing software code and requirements for safety considerationsExperience interfacing with other engineering functions: Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hardware EngineeringWhat We Offer:Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
