Industrial Engineer, Service Distribution

What To Expect

Tesla’s Industrial Engineering team is seeking a motivated, experienced, and knowledgeable Industrial Engineer to work in the Service Distribution Group. The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehousing environment, preferably involving work with medium to high volume products. This position involves analyzing labor requirements, developing workforce plans, and implementing best practices to ensure that labor resources are utilized effectively to meet operational goals.

What You'll Do

• Assess current labor productivity and performance metrics and analyze workforce data to forecast labor needs based on operational demands
• Workforce Planning: Develop and implement labor plans that align with operational goals and budget constraints and collaborate with operations management to ensure optimal staffing levels during peak and off-peak periods
• Collaborate with stakeholder teams like Warehouse Operations, IT Systems Developers, Inventory Control, Packaging Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain teams, and Material Planning to prioritize and maximize operational efficiency of the Warehouse team
• Manage continuous improvement resources that influence and drive change through data, Engineering, and Automation efforts to deliver higher levels of performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth
• Design and optimize material flow conveyance routes, facility layouts by analyzing bottlenecks and buffer sizes using process modeling
• Manage issue resolution and develop corrective actions for all process inefficiencies related but not limited to standard warehouse and kitting operations, etc. and create SOP
• Develop and maintain material flow data/plans that includes capacity and efficiency applying concepts of PDCA, Continuous Improvement, Lean methodologies

What You'll Bring

• Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Supply Chain Engineering, or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
• 2+ years of related experience in warehouse management, materials management/flow, production control, inventory control, material handling/conveyance, or project management in a warehousing
• Analytical capabilities including data analysis to optimize warehouse processes/operations and inventory levels
• Proficiency in creating and reading 2D layouts in AutoCAD
• Mastery of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SQL, Tableau, MOST Engineering standards
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand
• Problem solving ability in cross-functional and multi-cultural environment

Expected Compensation

$72,000 - $108,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
