Cardiac Stepdown Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cleveland, Ohio Contract

Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360–$2,480
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac and cardiovascular surgical stepdown unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 20, 2026
• End Date: February 19, 2027
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts; day coverage is approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. and night coverage is approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Schedule: Typically three shifts per week, with rotating days and nights based on operational needs
• Orientation: 16 hours, including required clinical assessments
• Holiday Requirement: Travelers must work at least every other holiday

Cardiac Stepdown Travel Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of combined permanent experience in cardiac stepdown or the specialty for which you are applying
• Permanent Ohio RN license or compact-state RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• All required certifications must be active and in hand; pending certifications are not accepted
• Ability to complete ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation with an acceptable score
• One recent reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty, from an assignment worked within the past 12 months
• Successful completion of required background, credentialing, health screening, and facility compliance processes

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients in a cardiac and cardiovascular surgical stepdown environment
• Assess patient status, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Monitor and recognize cardiac rhythms and support appropriate clinical interventions
• Administer medications safely and accurately while following established clinical protocols
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans, recovery, medications, and follow-up needs
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record
• Float to related cardiac-care units or the emergency department when needed to care for a similar patient population
