Overview

The Director, Supplier Insights is a data driven, strategic-minded resource that will lead supplier analysis and presentations, analytical commercial projects, and the development and execution of strategic initiatives for the Commercial Intelligence organization and SGWS Commercial Executive Leadership. The role’s primary focus will be to develop the implementation of supplier initiatives and deep dives that translate into commercially actionable strategies, to drive profitable growth and performance across the SGWS footprint, while being hands on and leveraging data, insights and analytics derived from internal and external data sources, while collaborating closely with supplier leads across the Commercial Intelligence team. 
This role reports into the Sr. Director, Supplier Insights, under the Strategic Insights – Commercial Intelligence team.

Primary Responsibilities

Supplier Strategy & Analytics
• Serve as a subject matter expert on the Supplier Insights Team to extract and synthesize information from internal and external data sources, to develop actionable insights and analysis for supplier strategic project needs, with minimal supervision
• Serve as the subject matter expert on Supplier Insights and how to translate these into actionable insights for supplier analysis
• Serve as the project lead, in support of the Sr. Director, Supplier Insights, on enterprise-wide strategic and analytical supplier initiatives
• Leverage insights and analytics for the SGWS suppliers to deliver solutions in support of their business and analytical needs with supplier innovation and new product performance such as category and competitive benchmark analysis 
• Partner with the other Strategy & Insights teams to develop analytical projects in support of supplier requests, TTT presentations, and SGWS growth initiatives
• Proactively identify commercially relevant industry analysis that can be leveraged across various levels of the organization, to include key learnings from historical data and actionable insights for outlooks
• Drive coordination and collaboration on SGWS supplier initiatives across functions, as directed by the Sr. Director, Strategy & Insights
• Support Supplier Top Presentations with strategic analysis content, and RFP capabilities presentations as needed
• Drive national consistency and engagement across supplier leadership presentations and processes and embedding tool deployment across SGWS internal teams and corporately managed suppliers
• Develop reporting tools that leverage SGWS and syndicated data sources for reusable intelligence through automation that helps enable faster and better commercial decisions. 
• Manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently to ensure timely completion with a high quality and visually impactful deliverable.

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Executive Leadership Support
• Support the Sr. Director, Supplier Insights on initiatives and projects requested by Supplier and/or Executive Leadership that include but are not limited to:
• Evaluation of Supplier expansion and alignment opportunities 
• Collaborating with Suppliers on strategic projects
• Preparation and presentations for supplier Top-to-Top meetings, Supplier QBRs, planning meetings, among others. 
• Support the Sr. Director, Supplier Insights on cross functional and executive leadership presentations
• Collaborate with the Office of Strategic Management and the Performance & Enablement Team on developing analytical insights, forecasts, and tools to support regional and market level needs to more effectively respond to RFP requests and execute supplier footprint strategy and projections, as directed by leadership 

Strategic Project Management
• Drive strategic enterprise-wide projects and initiatives in support of Supplier and/or Commercial Senior Executives as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience within the consumer products sector, including at least 5 in BevAlc
• At least 5+ years’ experience under a Strategy or Commercial Analytics function, with a strong track record of shopper insights and commercial metrics
• At least 5+ years’ experience managing complex datasets under a Business Intelligence or Commercial Analytics function, with a strong track record of analytics and data mining / manipulation and proficiency at managing datasets 
• Experience is managing complex leadership presentations from beginning to end
• Experience in data manipulation and synthesizing information from various internal and external data sets to develop actionable insights and analysis
• Advanced Analytics / Critical thinking skills that translate into a strategic and analytical mindset
• Advanced level Excel capabilities to manipulate data into a digestible format to utilize in reporting and analysis 
o Experience in pivot tables, intermediate to advanced Excel formulas, data visualizations are a must
• Advanced data visualizations knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, and Think-cell
• Preferred but not required experience in Tableau, Power BI, and Databricks 
• Knowledge across multiple data sources including SGWS internal data, syndicated data such as Nielsen, consumer/shopper data such as Numerator, Technomic, Nielsen HomeScan
• Excellent Presentation skills including preparing and presenting while using strong analytical frameworks and storytelling 
• Commercial project management experience – ability to drive an analysis from planning through completion with minimal supervision – independent thinking required
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Department Initiatives
• Strong track record of collaboration with cross-functional project teams

Preferred Qualifications
• MBA in a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
• Strong/Expert level Business Objects (BO) experience
• Strong track record of cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to develop, motivate and influence teams while driving changes within a transformational organization
• Experience managing RFPs
• Deep industry knowledge across the SGWS footprint and overall BevAlc industry
• Ability to effectively manage projects that include both internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to deliver presentations to senior leadership
• Digital knowledge including a strong understanding of SG Proof capabilities
• Ability to collaborate closely with Southern Glazer’s Performance & Enablement Team 
• Prioritization and decision-making skills
• Strong knowledge of market dynamics for wine & spirits
• Working knowledge of BevAlc regulations in major states
• Working knowledge of customer dynamics for wine & spirits
• Teamwork / cross-functional collaboration
• Communication, public speaking, and influencing skills

• Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
• Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to the rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
• Critical nature of this job may require extended hours, overtime and weekends
• May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
