Advanced Practice Provider - Orthopedic Urgent Care

Seattle Children’s Hospital is seeking a dedicated and versatile Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our world-class Orthopedics & Sports Medicine team. In this role, you will serve as the a lead clinical decision-maker, assuming primary responsibility for the acute management of pediatric musculoskeletal injuries. You will provide expert, front-line care for patients requiring immediate intervention—bridging the gap between injury and recovery without the need for an ER visit. Key Responsibilities Clinical Management: Provide direct care and assume primary responsibility for clinical management in the urgent care. Assessment & Treatment: Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, order/interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop evidence-based treatment plans. Collaborative Care: Partner with department attending physicians, specialists, and other health care team members to deliver safe, high-quality care. Continuity of Care: Direct or participate in case management and continuing care to ensure seamless patient transitions. Innovation & Research: Contribute to departmental quality improvement projects and participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the medical team. Hours of operation: Monday through Friday 1pm-10pm PST. About The Department Seattle Children’s Orthopedics and Sports Medicine are one of the most comprehensive programs in the country. Learn more about our team and the conditions we treat: Required Education And Experience Master’s degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program. One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area. Required Credentials For Nurse Practitioners: Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington. Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner For Physician Assistants: Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants For All Providers: Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment. American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals. Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support training and continuous maintenance of certification. Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children’s Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment. Preferred Two years experience in advanced practice provider role Two years experience in pediatric health care Compensation Range $137,321 - $201,961 per year Note: This position is currently eligible for an off-shift premium of up to 7.5% which would increase the total compensation of this role by an additional $10,299 to $15,147 per year. This position is eligible for relocation benefit for qualified applicants. Salary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
