Electrical Engineer

Internship Opportunity: Instrumentation & Controls EngineerThe Instrumentation & Controls Engineer Intern or Co-op will work alongside other Instrumentation & Controls Engineers to prepare drawings, instrument specifications, calculations, and other deliverables for our clients' design projects. The position will also interface with team members in our other engineering disciplines to provide cohesive engineering packages to our clients.ResponsibilitiesComplete calculations of limited complexity, with supervision as needed; may include control valve and flow meter sizingDevelop and maintain block and loop drawingsProvide support with instrument specificationsAssist experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineers with their activities as requestedQualificationsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent education) in Chemical or Electrical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or universityAbility to work within diverse teams assembled from Nexus, clients, and othersEffective communication skills in order to convey ideas is a mustProficient in Microsoft Office Excel and WordSeeks feedback to improve performanceFamiliar with AutoCAD, or other drafting software a plusPotential ExperiencesGain an understanding of the business and engineering work flow in a consulting firmPrepare instrument specifications and request quotes from vendorsLearn about process safety and its importance in the design and operation of our clients' facilitiesExposure to and application of industry codes and standards related to the instrumentation and controls disciplineAbout Nexus Engineering GroupNexus Engineering Group, a distinguished independent full-service engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCm) firm, provides comprehensive support to clients from concept through startup.
